ramen with a kick!
this bad boy can get pretty spicy! if you cook a bag you can definitely smell the spicyness, but that's what i bought it for :) definitely found a good deal on this thanks to Amazon!

i love it
Delisheous. Easy to make in the microwave. The spicey picante is a little hotter than chile powder. I say check it out, you'll love it.

I love this stuff
I'll start off by saying that Nong shim's products in general are of a higher standard than their competitors. Even their noodles have a much better consistency and are more flavorful than other brands such as nissin. With that said, lets get to the review of the Spicy Picante flavor.
The first thing anyone notices when they try this is just how spicy it is. It is SPICY. I love spicy foods and this will probably make your nose run. I absolutely love it though. If you think it is too spicy, you can probably use less of the seasoning packet.. so theres some room to fit individual taste.
The package contains both a seasoning packet and some dried vegetables to add so you can definitely make a meal out of this if you add some egg or something. I usually just eat it as is. Overall, I think the flavor is great and I really recommend it for people that like spicy foods. You'll never go back to the cheaper, tasteless stuff again.

Not bad, will compare to Korean Shin
Giving 5 stars so more people will read, actually rate it @ 4 stars.
From what I can tell, American made Ramen is worse in general
For unknown reasons, even though I cook with the same pot I would in Korea, perhaps it is the stovetop instead of the gas stove I would use in Korea, the ramen is harder to cook to the right degree, probably meaning that the noodles were prepared differently in the factories.
As for the spiciness factor, anybody who eats regular asian / indian hot foods should be able to taste the flavor behind the spice. In my opinion, everybody here complaining about the whole spice packet being too much must have grown up on hotdogs and hamburgers, or equally not-spicy foods.
A tip when cooking the noodles is to cool them in air while the noodles are boiling. Repeat until you see noodles become firmer, perhaps about 5 fork/chopstickfulls for the whole bowl (alot of noodles per utensil-full) and you can taste the difference.
As always, eggs, garlic, ground red pepper, sri rancha(?) sauce or other condiments are good.
In Korea the standard for cooked ramen would include 1egg, green onions, sometimes onions, and sometimes small dumplings.
Red meats are okay to put in, but are less cost-to-taste effective when compared to hams or dumplings.

The best and authentic
Nong Shim and this flavor especially (love the heat and spiciness) is by far the best ramen I've tasted. Introduced to me by a Japanese friend, I've been hooked on this brand ever since, This is not like any of those 5/$1 ramen packs you see in every grocery store - this is a real ramen noodle.
Highly recommended - but spicy - so beware!

Editorial Review :
Annie's gluten-free rice pasta & cheddar is made with gluten-free and wheat-free rice pasta elbows and real aged cheddar in a wheat- and gluten-free facility. Annie's believes you will find the creamy cheddar cheese and natural, 100% rice pasta to be a winning combination. Annie's rice pasta and cheddar is also KSA dairy kosher.
Customer Reviews :
Tasty, Filling, and Nutritious
Annie's rice pasta has a firm, toothsome texture that semolina pasta can't match, and the cheese is mildly sweet and tangy (the instructions say the cheese will stand up without butter, but use it anyway to cut minor Cheetos-like overtones). Though pricy, it is nutritionally rich and has a good flavor, unlike regular macaroni, which is mostly filler and serves to deliver the cheese.
This product has the advantage of being gluten-free, but even if you're not on a restricted diet, I recommend it. Both healthy and tasty, it's a step up from the garbage that got most of us through college. You need to eat less of it to feel full, thus offsetting the greater price, and it's so tasty that you need to eat WAY less of it to have your taste buds satisfied. Savings, nutrition, and good flavor... what more could you ask for?

Great mac and cheese replacement!
Annie's gluten free is better than regular mac and cheese to my husband and I (who is a real lover of the dish)! We started eating according to our blood type which means gluten free. We were buying this macaroni and cheese at about $4 a box. Buying it in bulk is much more efficient, and we really enjoy the product. Shipping was prompt and on time as predicted. This product really is a great substitute for Kraft. Kudos Annies!

One Box, Countless Meals
Before going gluten-free, I would occasionally rely on instant dinner type products where you just add hamburger or a can of tuna. Sure, I prefer a meal from scratch with fresh meats and veggies, but if I'm in a hurry, I enjoy the convenience of a meal in a box. The gluten-free products in that category are few and overpriced, in my opinion. That's why I was very happy to discover Annie's GF mac & cheese at quite a reasonable price at Amazon, especially when you do the subscription option.
This mac & cheese is pretty good when prepared as directed, but a little bland for me. I can't remember if the box suggests this or not, but I prefer to use plain yogurt instead of milk for some extra tanginess. However, it's the potential variations that make this a product I eat consistently. Here are some examples:
Italian--add cooked sausage, diced tomatoes, Italian seasoning, and parmesan cheese
Mexican--add cooked hamburger, salsa, diced chiles, and Mexican cheese blend
Tuna--add tuna, GF mushroom soup, garlic, frozen peas, and extra cheddar
Tex-Mex--add cooked hamburger, canned baked beans, GF taco seasoning, salsa, and extra cheddar
Salmon--add cooked salmon, canned green beans, onion powder, and cream cheese
Mediterranean--add cooked chicken, cooked bacon, dieced tomatoes, and feta cheese
You get the idea. I've made lots of different quickie casseroles that start with a box of Annie's end with whatever I have on hand. If you are gluten-free and haven't yet tried Annie's Mac & Cheese, I highly recommend it.

Great Rice Pasta
for the first time since I was diagnosed with the celiac disease (2 years ago at the age of 27) I've found than the taste of this pasta is the same as what I was used to eat. I've literally quited pasta since I've found them!

Gives Ramen a more respectable name.
I ate a lot of Top Ramen in college, as every poor student does. But I actually liked it and continue to make it today. I had a bunch of it in my pantry. Then friends turned me on to this stuff.
If the only Ramen you know is what you had when you were broke, you MUST give this a try. It's unbelievably good.

Disgusting, took 2 bites just to make sure my taste buds were working correctly.
Disgusting! If anyone wants I have a case with all but 1 in it. I trashed the one I tried. If you want it just have to pay for shipping. I will probably just throw it all away.

Tasty Noodles but Misleading Lable...
My father and I have been eating this noodle for a few years now. Though it is more expensive than some of the lesser noodles, it is definitely good value because of the texture and taste, also considering that it is 4.2 oz instead of 2~3 oz of some other packaged noodles.
Adding vegetables, seafood, eggs, and meat makes the noodle a full meal for me, quite satisfying after a long cold day working in the field. For my taste, I only use 1/2 of the seasoning package. Full pack is definitely too spicy for me.
Unfortunately the label listed at Amazon website says 4.2 oz "bowl," a more convenient way to prepare my noodles when sometimes I only have a microwave oven available. When I got the delivery, these turn out just regular "packages" instead of bowls. A disappointment at least, and the term "fraud" came to mind when I looked at what I got versus what I thought I was getting.
Well, Amazon probably did not know the difference and counting on what the manufacturer specified. It would be nice if Amazon would correct the label on the website so those who are looking for noodle bowls instead of the regular packages will not be misled like I was.

Highly Addictive!
I've been eating these for over ten years. They are very spicy hoy, but you get used to it.
The flavor is just so good. I keep trying different flavors and brands from our local Korean Store, but keep coming back to this brand and flavor. My daughter loves the Kimchi version, not quite as spicy hot.

Favorite soup bowl!
This soup is quite delicious. The broth is incredibly tasty and the fried tofu topping were really delicious and added nice texture. This is surprisingly filling given that the who bowl is well under 300 calories. I've tried most of Annie Chun's other soup and noodle bowls, and this is one of my favorite. Will definitely buy again!!

poor packaging
Annie Chun's packaging problem, not Amazon's!
...Unlike most other Chun products, Udon Noodle Soup Bowls are NOT plastic shrink-wrapped. In my case order, two bowls are ruined because liquid soup base packages ruptured; the dark liquid contents leaked out onto all other bowls.
Frustrating waste...and a sloppy mess!
Will not reorder this product.

Great for my emergency stash...
i started buying these bowls last year, to stick to my resolution of avoiding drive-thru when i'm at work. i keep a case under my desk. i really like these for when i want a hot lunch. it's a little more prep than say, campbell's, but definitely worth it. and while i had the same complaint about the lack of flavor as other reviewers, i simply adjusted the amount of water i used to compensate. my other complaint would have to be the texture of the tofu and vegetables used, but that can't be avoided when freeze drying. i don't even use the little packet; i just add in fresh ingredients . it's a great way to get my daily serving a veggies, especially knowing how horrid a cook i really am. the gals in my office have gotten hooked as well, and we now have 'vegetarian fridays' twice a month in a bid to get healthy. these are always brought in by at least one person.

Best Pre-packaged Soup Out There
I love this soup. It's low in salt (which is hard to find in a good soup). I always have a few of these on hand. They're great when you're sick. Add a little hot sauce to amp up the heat. Highly recommend.

im a fan of korean food but i have never tried korean ramen until my friend recommended it to me. he introduce the saefiid flavor to me.. and wow the spicy is really kickin and the thick noodle is just so fulfilling. it may look weird but you cant judge a book by its cover right?!

Spicy is nice
Good stuff. The price is right. Even using only half of the spice pack, this soup mix will warm your mouth, bring sweat to your forehead, and make your nose run. The effects only last for a few minutes, save for a cold winter day. One package makes enough for two, add several frozen shrimp to the hot water for extra protein.

Tasty Ramen with a kick
The first time I tried this I thought it was very tasty and very spicy. Now, after my 4th package, it is just very tasty and almost not spicy enough! It definitely grew on me - very delicious and addictive!
I DO wish there was a low sodium version however; 1040mg of sodium in 1 pkg is just too much. (Are you listening Nong Shim?) Something with this much spice and flavor does not need as much salt so I will definitely have to eat them sparingly, if I can resist the temptation!

Nong shim spicy seafood
I love this one the most among Nong Shim noodle varieties. I like it very spicy and this one is almost there. I can add a little bit more of chili peppers and it'll be perfect. But again I like it VERY spicy (I"m asian), so for most people I think it's spicy enough.
Try adding an egg and some veggies to it and it's a great meal.
