Question : what's the difference between these alcoholic beverages?
what's the difference between vodka, liquor, beer, rum, gin, wine, and malt beverages? i know that drinks like smirnoff and bacardi are carbonated and on the front of the bottle it says malt beverage, but on the back it says flavored beer. ALSO, when you go to places like Chilis and you get a margarita, what is the alcohol that they put in there? thanks in advance!

Vodka is distilled from grain or potatoes. It is highly distilled for purity. Liquor is not specific. It refers to a variety of distilled beverages most of which are made from grain. Scotch, vodka, rum, rye and gin are all liquor. Beer is fermented barley. Fermented beverages are lower proof (alcohol content) than distilled beverages. Rum is distilled from sugarcane. Gin is distilled grain flavored with herbs. a variety of herbs can be used. Wine is fermented grapes. Malt beverages are made similarly to beer. The term is used in marketing to distinguish malt liquor from beer which may carry a lower-class connotation than malt liquor. It can be flavored with a large variety of flavors and is usually higher proof than beer. Smirnoff and Bacardi are brand names. Smirnoff is best known as a vodka maker though they also make malt beverages. Bacardi is best known as a rum maker. The alcohol in margaritas is tequila which is distilled from agave cactus.

Question : Sparking water beverages not healthy during pregnancy?
I've heard in several places that flavored water beverages aren't very healthy they contain artificial sweeteners and other components that don't make it a healthy choice during pregnancy. Has anyone been told by a doc that it is in fact ok/healthy to consume these beverages during pregnancy??I have a VERY hard time drinking water alone.Sorry about the run-on-sentence, was a type-o.

I would avoid the artificial sweeteners but there are many that don't have that so just check the labels and go ahead.

Can lead leach out of lead crystal glassware into beverages? I use them daily for all types of beverages. Should this be avoided?

Be cautious if you drink out of lead crystal glassware used for beverages.Crystal contains large amounts of heavy metal. Crystalline glass can contain lead, zinc, barium, or potassium oxide. Lead crystal is 24 percent or more lead oxide, while full lead crystal contains 30 percent or more. The lead (or barium or zinc) can leach out of the crystal into the beverage inside and the amount of lead in the beverage will increase as long as the beverage sits in the crystal. This leaching is increased if the beverage is acidic like soda or orange juice. Here are a few suggestions to minimize lead exposure:* Pre-soak crystal glasses with a room temperature solution of 50 percent vinegar or lemon juice and 50 percent water for 24 hours. Empty out the glass, rinse it with warm water, and hand wash it with mild detergent and warm water before serving your food or drinks.* Don't store liquid in crystal decanters for any length of time. Pre-clean the decanter as above and then fill the decanter just before using it to serve the beverage. Remove the liquid from the decanter as soon as possible.* Don't serve hot liquids in crystal, as heat will increase lead leaching in the beverage.* Don't drink from lead crystal if you are pregnant and don't serve drinks to young children in crystal, as lead is particularly dangerous to both babies and children.

A certain abbot, concerned with the unseemly degree of levity that beer engendered in the monks in his care, sent a barrel of beer to Rome and a letter explaining his concern and asking the Vatican officials for an evaluation. The worthies of Rome, wine drinkers, found the stuff extremely unpleasant. They returned a letter congratulating the abbot on the devoutness of monks willing to drink the (to them) vile stuff. Question : Why is cocaine illegal when acoholic beverages are worst?
Many people die from drunk driving, lung failure,and other effect of acoholic beverages. And I think acoholic beverages are much worst than cocaine. Why is it that cocaine are banned while acoholic beverages are legal.

Cocaine is a lot more powerful and euphoric which makes it much more addictive. People do not generally have a few snorts of cocaine and go home, or spend a few hours getting high and stop. The addiction is so powerful, people will spend all their money and keep using it (day and night). It will take over your life in a hurry. It will ruin you financially, affect your mind, emotions, and sanity. It is not a drug that should ever be legalized. You can make an argument for weed, that's fine but no way cocaine. I have been on it for a few periods of my life and all I can say is it got the best of me every time. Financially is the worse because of the cost, and the obsession to keep using. I have drank for several years and that never really got me anything like coke did. There is no comparison!

I drink coffee in the morning, and water at work where it is hot. I say Pop for soft drinks I like Pepsi and I never tried mineral water but I should think about it?? Did you?

I think it is a myth because when I drink cold beverages in the summer, I dont feel any cooler. In fact, I think I sweat harder sometimes when I do drink cold liquids.

i don't think it cools you off, but i do know it burns calories. your body has to get the liquid to your body temp as quick as possible this takes energy to heat the liquid up. inturn burnning calories!
